Instant Classics was founded by David Cottis in 1990.  The company’s policy is twofold, and contained in its name – to produce classic plays in an interesting ‘instant’ way, as well as new plays that have the qualities to become classics.  The company’s productions have included La Ronde, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Richard III, The Druid’s Rest, Trilby, new adaptations of Lysistrata, The Birds, Oliver Twist, Don Quixote and the British premieres of Caesar by Charles Marowitz and It’s All True by Jason Sherman.  The company won  the Mark Marvin Rent Subsidy Award at the 2012 Peter Brook Empty Space Awards.
